In Memoriam

R.I.P. James Richard Claiborne Cobb    Part time island resident James Richard Claiborne Cobb lost his life on January 16th, 2010. An avid fisherman who loved Belize, Cobb, along with his wife (affectionately known as Stuart) was an active supporter of the South Ambergris Caye Neighborhood Watch.

Cobb grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas, Tampa, Florida and Wilmington, Delaware. He loved to travel, especially to Africa, to Argentina where he hunted dove, and to Belize and Crested Butte, CO, where he fished for bonefish, tarpon, snook, snapper and trout.

Jim is survived by his wife, Virginia Stuart Chapman Cobb; his son, Dr. William Claiborne Cobb and his wife Natalie of Newport, Arkansas; his daughter, Cynthia Ruffin Cobb of Los Angeles, California and three grandchildren, John, Katie, and Emily Cobb of Newport, Arkansas.

His extended family of friends in San Pedro Town offer their condolences and prayers to his family during this time of bereavement. He will be sadly missed.

Peter “Peter4” Ridley

Peter Ridley, better known to his friends in San Pedro as Peter4, sadly lost his life on January 13th, 2010. After a long battle with cancer, Peter succumbed to his illness at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service was held in his honor on Wednesday, January 20th, and friends bid him his final farewell. Peter4’s final wish was to have his ashes scattered on Ambergris Caye. He will be greatly missed.
